This high-profile, benchmark setting university project was the first of its kind in the country. The university set out to design and build a facility, the sole purpose of which, was to offer a centralized facility that would provide data science and information technology classes and program space-types, in support of a number of schools, colleges, and programs across the entirety of the university. Essentially, the university sought to unify the teachings of the emerging concept of “big data,” as it has and continues to permeate most aspects of our day-to-day lives.
This state-of-the-art facility was planned on a highly trafficked road, directly across the street from the main university bookstore, in the heart of the campus, where vehicular and pedestrian traffic is densest. The contractor needed to communicate a number of messages in its presentation, ranging from the value it would bring during preconstruction, to its approach to on-site logistics and delivery of construction services.
PRESWERX began its presentation development effort by creating a series of case studies, many of which were strikingly similar in program, size and complexity to the project the team was competing for. These case studies allowed the contractor to present, in a very detailed, highly analytical fashion, the value they would bring in terms of providing accurate, reliable and timely cost estimating for the budget constrained project.
PRESWERX also developed a series of value management-focused case studies from which the contractor was able to present and speak to in the presentation – many of which represented similar conditions and decision points likely to occur on the project for which the team was presenting. PRESWERX then developed the presentation, including the content necessary to further discuss budget, schedule and logistics, and provided professional presentation coaching to the operations team, giving them the confidence they needed to deliver the message effectively, and with conviction.
